Hi, my name is Kimberly Punzalan. And my eyes look pretty normal, no? Well, for the most part. But, today, my eye doctor told me, I have scars all over my eyes. A year from now, I will be blind. She refused to give me a new prescription. And, she won’t see me anymore. Gee, thanks.

One day, I won’t be able to see my own reflection. I won’t know what kind of person I’m growing into. I won’t see the pimples. I won’t see my hair -never really have to worry about fixing it. I’ll make believe that I’m beautiful, though I really doubt it.

I won’t be able to see my friends. I won’t know if they dyed their hair, if they’re wearing a new shirt, if they look beautiful for homecoming, prom, ect. I have to recognize them by voice only.

I won’t be able to perform anymore, I can’t read music. I have to listen and memorize the words. I’ll probably get more into instrumentals.

I won’t be able to drive anymore, goodbye freedom. Good bye seeing the world, and all it has to offer. I’ll be confined, to only where someone is guiding me. Or, I’d walk myself to my doom I suppose.

I’m terrified, where will I be a year from now? I really believe in the power of prayer, so I place all my faith in God & honestly, I hope that some people are willing to pray for me.

Well, 365 more days to go.
